Concerts and Festivals in Dubai

Dubai has an eclectic music scene, having hosted metal festivals to Russian pop stars, to the opera and classical performances, to the Arabic music scene. Comedy shows are fairly frequent as well.

Shows range from nightclub performances to open air shows at the Atlantis Hotel.

Be prepared to pay high prices for international stars.

Larger shows can often be found on websites like PlatinumList but smaller shows may not be. I randomly saw Haifa Wehbe announce a nightclub show on Instagram the afternoon of the show. There was a WhatsApp number and a few details. I ended up attending, and it was amazing.

Many shows are also in hotel ballrooms, with dress codes and tables, and the ticket prices include a meal.

Due to the multicultural nature of the population and also common visitors, the music scene has something for everyone.

Many international acts have played Expo 2020 Dubai so far. Nancy Ajram is an arabic music superstar, and she played in November 2021.

Large scale festivals with international bands have happened over the years. There was a reoccurring metal/rock festival for years, but ultimately the promoter folded.

As Dubai is a boom/bust cyclical economy, so there are periods of feast and famine.
