Itinerary for Dubai

How to plan an itinerary in Dubai for a certain number of days

There is just so much to do and see in Dubai. Lots of “must see Dubai” items. A week minimum is needed for a first time, probably closer to two weeks.

As with all of the middle east, the lifestyle dictates a rest period in the middle of the day and late nights of shopping and eating etc.  Outside of the malls, many places will be closed in the afternoons for a couple of hours.  Friday, being the holy day of the weekend (like Sunday in the west), often will cause limited hours and sometimes places won’t be open at all. I’ve tried to note time specific activities.

Saturday and Sunday are the weekend (as of 2022).  Most of the middle east used to be Thursday and Friday, but changed one day to suit international business better.  Note that there may be special celebrations for Muslim celebrations (both Eids) or various other religions especially Hindu ones.  It’s best not to travel in the middle east during Ramadan due to the food restrictions etc.

Honestly, Dubai is about experiences.  Eat everything, learn the history, barter and haggle, see the modern marvels, experience the people and cultures, and eat more.
