Updates…

After being busy with other things for the last 6 months, I have once again started to update this site. I have moved some information to a new Wildlife Photography page, and will expand when I have time.

I have endless information to add to this website, including notes on Trinidad and Tobago, Oman, Montreal, Norway, Australia, Indonesia, more from the UAE etc. It is just a time issue.

Latest Trip:

November 2023 - UAE and Oman

I was able to spend over a month in my favourite part of the world this year. I spent time in Ajman and Dubai, then explored a lot more of Oman than I had previously. Oman is easily one of the most stunningly beautiful countries in the world and you could spend years exploring and not see everything. The rich history dating back to bronze age settlements along with the numerous ecosystems filled with eclectic wildlife provides endless adventure.

August 2023 - Montreal

Finally, after 4 years away, I was able to return to the food capital of Canada. I saw friends, I ate, I saw raccoons, I ate more, then I ate and then I left.

December 2022 - Mexico City

November 2022 - Australia

September 2022 - Vancouver, BC

Motely Crue! Def Leppard, Poison and Joan Jett!

May 2022 - Seattle, WA, USA

Concerts! Behemoth, Arch Enemy and finally Hypocrisy!

April 2022 - Spokane, WA, USA

Paul McCartney! First concert since the start of the pandemic!

November 2021 - Dubai and Ajman UAE

I spent a month in Dubai and Ajman in the UAE. I visited Expo 2020 and explored Umm al Quwain for the first time.

This trip involved a lot of wildlife photography in Ajman and Dubai.

Pandemic Domestic Travel in Canada

September-October 2020 - Far North BC and the Yukon

When the borders were closed and I had leave to burn, I decided to take a drive to the Yukon to photograph wildlife. Unlike the Southern parts of BC, the sheer lack of people in the North equate to far more wildlife activity.

I spent weeks camping and photographing bears, bison, porcupines and caribou. I did see a couple of moose, but they were too fast in the rain.

Despite the cold, I enjoyed the Yukon in ways I never thought I would. I can’t wait to return in the future to explore more bear habitat!

Last Trip Before Covid-19 Pandemic

March 2020 - Mexico City, Mexico

I was in Mexico City for a 2 day heavy metal festival in March 2020. At the end of the first day of Hell and Heaven 2020, after watching Manowar, we got on the bus to travel back to the city and turned our phones off aeroplane mode. Suddenly both of our phones were going crazy with messages about the official announcement for all travellers to return to Canada ASAP.

Due to the madness, we actually ended up leaving on our original date, but we had to cancel plans. We ended up staying in CDMX and visiting pyramids that we had never been to, as well as the island of the dolls!

I spent more time taking wildlife photos in CDMX than ever before, getting some beautiful bird shots.

On top of eating gorditas and tacos constantly, I also took the opportunity to pick up some lucha libre souvenirs.

I certainly took the time to expand my knowledge of CDMX and add new spots to my “must do” ideas.
